When I read it for the first time, a few things caught my attention, but as a whole, I disregarded it as nonsense sh*t.

I would probably, the more I think about it, do that with many other texts, especially if they held any similarities to the Tract.

Let's say I decided one day a while back to read the Tract once each day, for a month.....

and let's say too, that I wrote it down/copied it a few times within that month.

I may or may not, by the end of that month, feel that the Tract is still nonsense sh*t talk.

Likely I would have some of it memorized at this point, but what if anything about my understanding would change?

I would obviously feel like I may have more of an opinion on what it may mean, but not necessarily completely understand it.

I would have to consider something at this point, I think.

Maybe I just don't understand it but someone else does.

Did they study it longer than me?

Are they more perceptive to symbolism, hidden meanings/metaphors?

There's plenty of people that are smarter than me and better than me, in just about everything I can think of.....

and the same can be said for everyone else.

Why would this not then apply to something like the Tract?

If someone has dedicated themselves in some manner to understanding what is being said in the Tract, and if that person or persons has studied, memorized, researched etc...

beyond what any of us have...

it seems to make sense to listen to the individuals who have put in the time and that say they understand.

I am aware that it sounds like crazy bullsh*t, based off, what some consider, crazy bullsh*t....

but there must be a consideration of it not being that.

There are indications all through the game, some subtle, some blatant, that seem to tell us that we are not ...

"understanding completely"

or

"know completely"

and do not

"trust completely."

What these mean exactly, is probably something that can only be understood if we recognize and understand the theme somehow.

There does seem to be a theme.

I have had my fair share of wars of words with Xmarqs.

I won't deny though that he has a much better understanding of the Tract than I do.

He has studied it more than me.

I'm sure he's memorized a fair amount of it.

Knowing these things and ignoring him would seem a bit foolish, if understanding the Tract was something I was genuinely interested in understanding.

In no way am I qualified to call bullsh*t on anything to do with Epsilon, when I know how much time I have dedicated to my own understanding of Epsilon.

TLDR:

Xmarqs has dedicated more time and effort into Epsilon, The Tract and studying metaphors than probably any of us.

A surface skim of the Tract does not qualify one to claim it's bullsh*t.

We listen everyday to experts, teachers, professionals because they are their titles in their field.

I think it makes sense to apply the same logic towards anyone who has studied something withing the game extensively, be it the Tract or something else.

Things To Do When You're Bored

Have a double Dutch jump rope contest.

There will be countless others who live life vicariously through 2-d, believing anything is possible in that glass half-full...

dreaming, dreaming the impossible dream...

perplexed and dumbfounded by reality, dial-up noises, utility markings..

and various other things you may encounter outside your front door..if you venture a glance away from your phone.

:-)

I've seen a movie once..it was called The Wilderness Family.

They really had their sh*t figured out and got the f*ck out.

Life is controlled by ill gotten gains.

There is no mystery.

The game shows this. Everyone in the game tries to show this.

Nobody is good, right or outside of external control, just like real life.

You're all being forcibly distracted, just like everyone in the game, farther from the truth..

level 1..

camping on a sidewalk for an Iphone

level 2..

believing emotional advertising..

Life is universal..

I think personally, that the early route during the mission I mentioned above, shows an intent for the player to notice, stop at (within mission or after that mission) and take in some info.

With the Rain glyph and Moon glyph, one might even be tempted, especially after reading..

beam me up Uranus..

to test out the info from the clues right there at the Hippy Camp.

Through some trial and error, you may conclude that there's nothing happening for all your tests..

you might take beam me up as a clue to go up, you may not. Likely you will end up leaving, with some things to reference later

..quite awhile later..

maybe while taking pics of your kills for Cletus, you may or may not decide to..

A. Explore Paleto Bay

B. Climb a mountain

C. Take a ride on a nearby lift

D. Leave area/continue missions

There's two distinct options there that will allow you to recall info from the Hippy Camp, if you went there earlier in the game.

At the top of Chiliad, there is more info to consider and a couple really key bits of prior info, can begin to take you down some paths that may appear to hold more clues or info than the Hippy Camp alone....

I am of the belief, that this game and similar games, utilize what I would call, imaginary boundaries..

most especially within a said mission or proceeding to a mission.

Though not a precise example, I want to give a rough example at least, of this line of thought...

There is a side mission with Frankling, where you need to drive a woman to confront her cheating fiance.

If you follow the gps and listen to the conversation taking place in the vehicle, there will be a specific dialogue trigger when approaching a landmark...

..as you approach the Weasel News building, the woman initiates a dialogue script..

I may look deeper for it later..she goes into a little rant about her fiance being a weasel.

While this may appear pretty trivial, it indicates in a way to me, that there is a certain mechanic at play.

This mechanic could simply be my own personal coincidence or it could also mean that there was a significant amount of attention applied for the sake of immersion ..or otherwise.

It's really the otherwise that interests me.

To me, though it doesn't directly relate to what I mentioned above, it appears to show a method used, likely coded to a mission, from a route or landmark, that initiates due to the proximity of the player.

I typically play these sandbox styled games using my own imaginary barriers.

If there is something rendering in my line of site, that isn't too far beyond my self-imposed boundary of exploration, I will check it out...

otherwise i'll leave it for a later time.

This is getting long-winded..

Red = Target/Locate/Spot/Here/Find

Red things = 5 X's, Jetpack Man, Egg, UFO, Top of Mural Eye Thing

Red Eye Thing under observation deck..

..target, stand here, something happens...

verified.

Standing on target area, view UFO.

Red X's = Glyphs..

not literal.

Find targets.

Mural was not created with drafting tools..

not precision map or precision anything..

Glyphs are close enough to target X's since drafting class skills not utilized in Mural.

Rough area.

Egg, red Egg.

Fall down mountain from Mural/Observation deck Eye.

Land in Egg Town..target acquired..

Paleto Bay.

Target ..

UFO, red UFO.

...what's the rest...?

Faded=this thing

Full=yes, this

Moon=see me at night

Rain=see me in the rain

Mountain=see me up high

I read a comment or post on reddit a couple days ago, regarding how we perceive and interpret the mural.

Later, I read a similar comment, by the same user I think, that really made me think....

think about how we might be stuck/hung up on what we believe is being depicted and how we may be trying to conform/impose a wrong or over-zealous meaning, based on what we see...

or want it to be.

DrSpoculus[S]

Exactly my point.

The only reason to believe there is a Jet Pack is because of one simple stick figure drawing, BUT nothing else on the Mural, Save for the Red Eye, actually is what the Mural shows.

Everything represents something else.

Are there Red X's we find on Chiliad?

No, the Red X's mean Glyph's to find.

Do we find black line everywhere in no obvious order?

No.

So, they obviously represent something other than black lines.

So, if everything else means something other than what is depicted then how is the Jet Pack a straight match?

You can't use one type of science to solve 9/10 things on the Mural and then choose to solve the last piece using a different method to fit your own narrative.

If The Jet pack is a literal Jet Pack then the UFO has to be the Hippy Camp rusted/broken Saucer.

It's the only single seat, 3 legged UFO in the game.

The Mural will be solved by using the same method throughout.

you won't have to make up rules as you go to...

"Complete"

it.

I can't help but agree, when it's presented in such a way as this.

There really isn't anything that could be argued, using that logic.

I believe this same user mentioned a similar argument about the egg also.

This is something I have also thought about and then decided that to me, the cracked egg did not represent the alien egg found in the files.

There are things that we have to consider, if we believe still, that there is something to solve.

I would consider red herring items to be necessary at this point.

To me, the alien egg is one of those red herrings.

The user above that I quoted, talked about the literal aspect of the mural..

as you read above.

If we believe the mural holds more than what we have seen after 100%, then it would start to make sense that we should question things...

like the egg on the mural.

If we consider the egg to be an egg, it is either the alien egg, a symbol for easter egg, or Paleto Bay/broken clock etc.

What happens though if we take a possible red herring out..

the alien egg.

It's not cracked in any of the models or during day or night.

We haven't seen it outside of some program showing it to us, but we are stuck on it a bit.

If we never saw that alien egg, we would probably be set on Paleto Bay or the symbol being an easter egg..

(though i'm not sure how a crack looking thing means easter egg really).

For sh*ts, let's take easter egg out of the equation. So, all of the Paleto Bay egg references pop up now.

I believed that Paleto Bay is the egg and that the broken clock was an indication of that.

Okay, so I then I follow the mural and that leads to the top of Chiliad, from the egg up.

I don't know now, because if I use this logic, then it seems to indicate more and more that we don't have anything more to find.

If you're like me, you probably think there IS still something/s left.

At this point, in order for me to continue my hunt and after arguing with myself about the quote above, I feel that there's not many options left on the path I have been following.

I'm either resigned to figure my sh*tty space docker, made out of trash cans and dumpsters, by a dude who will be living in Dignity Village in a months time, is a good thing to get....

not to mention a Rusty Tractor.

So, that's where i'm at, and now I have to consider and pursue things that I was ankle deep in all along through the hunt but didn't give enough time to.

I mean what are the choices really?

That's what I have to ask myself, looking at all the compiled info, findings, speculations and failed testing...

right now, it's more difficult for me to expect to find a literal Jet Pack or a literal egg, since nothing else so far on the mural has literally been found, based on the what we see depicted.
